Drills? Safety Training? Checklists?
What Drills, Safety Trainings and Checks are too repetitive?
What ones do you skip?
What drills do you and all the crew know by heart?
You can Answer ALL those questions with these simple thoughts.
What if you were the one in the water – does everyone know how to launch the yawl to get you out of the water? Ice? Swift water.
If you have fallen between barges or in between the lock wall and the tow do the crew know how to respond before you are smashed?
If you are hurt or sick and your heart stops, do all the crew know CPR and how to apply and operate the AED?
If there is a fire and you are trapped in a room, or the yawl is not accessible can the crew contain the fire and rescue you?
Will any of the following affect you if you need assistance?
Has the yawl checks been performed, has the First Aid kits been checked, has the battery in the AED been checked, Are the Fire Extinguishes charged and locations known, correct type of Extinguishers and what their uses are, has the General Alarm been tested and crew knows what channel to go too?
